Who say’s writing a travel blog can’t be fun?

Not me!

It was just after the August Civic Holiday here in Ontario, we had the day off and nothing planned. While having our morning coffee’s I asked my husband if there was anything planned or if he wanted to do anything in particular, between some ummm and ahhh’s BBQ, cutting the grass.

Before I could say “let’s pack some food and drinks and go to Calypso Waterpark!” He dug out the cooler, made some sandwiches had swim shorts on and was waiting for me by the door.

So off we went! It was my first time!

A few details:

Calypso is Canada’s biggest theme waterpark. It’s just east of Ottawa off Highway 417 and 75 minutes from Montreal and 30 min from Ottawa. The site is HUGE! 100 acres of water adventures to keep you cool in the heat.

It has 35 moderately heated waterslides, 2 themed rivers, Canada’s largest wave pool. There’s also area’s to have a picnic closer to some of the slides, or you can get more shade and eat by one of the wooded areas. Even if you didn’t pack anything to eat with you there are restaurant’s, cafeteria’s, ice-cream bars. Trust me – you won’t go hungry or thirsty here!

It’s open daily from 10AM till 7PM from June, 4 till September 5, 2016. You can buy a day ticket or season pass.
